The village of Asparuhovo is a lovely place, which is worth visiting. Except for admiring the beauty of the Tzonevo dam and engaging in sports within it, you can also take your time to tour the region. You will be pleasantly surprised. The Chudnite skali (Marvellous Rocks) place is situated nearby.
You may also visit the Ethnographic complex in the village of Asparuhovo. The Ethnographic and Architectural complexes present completely restored “Kamchia type” houses from the Bulgarian Revival period. Thanks to the skills and individuality of the self-educated master-builders the houses have become true artistic creations.
The old Monastery school from the Revival period and the stone church that was built in 1857 were all moved from their old locations, which currently lie at the bottom of the dam.
In the rest of the houses you can see arranged ethnographic materials, disclosing the lifestyle and culture of the native-born. Today the restored houses treasure the beauty of the old village. Among these buildings are the community center, the library and the youth club.
Here under the supervision of some local masters you can practise old Bulgarian crafts such as pottery-making, rug-weaving, mat-knitting, etc.
